Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) combines radial pressure waves, focused shockwave treatment and vibration therapy. Shockwave Therapy is a highly effective treatment for conditions such as Achilles Tendinopathy, Plantar Fasciitis and Calcific Tendonitis of the shoulder, to name a few. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that eliminates pain, restores full mobility and greatly improves quality of life, with beneficial effects typically experienced after only one or two sessions. Focused Shockwave Therapy is a clinically proven, drug-free, minimal discomfort, treatment for men’s sexual health conditions including vasculogenic erectile dysfunction and Chronic Pelvic Pain Prostatitis. It is the only non-invasive procedure that treats the root causes of erectile dysfunction in men by increasing blood flow, forming new blood vessels, and breaking down micro-plaques in the penis. Typically patients will notice some change within a few weeks of starting treatment, but with the most significant changes occurring after 6–8 weeks, and if you address the underlying causes of your ED, such as exercise, nutrition and lifestyle, then the results can be improved. The treatment pathway is simple, once you have a medical diagnosis we’ll hold a short consultation in which we establish how severe your condition might be, from here we can suggest an appropriate number of treatment sessions. Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) involves passing short, intense sound waves into damaged tissues, which increases blood flow, has an analgesic effect and stimulates the repair and regeneration process. The treatment puts the cells into repair mode and allows your body to restart its own accelerated healing process.

WHAT CAN BE TREATED WITH SHOCKWAVE THERAPY?

    While Shockwave is suitable for a large number of conditions both evidenced and experimental with minimal side effects, there are some conditions, also known as contraindications that means Shockwave is not an option.

    Shockwave Therapy

    Shockwave is unsuitable in the following circumstances:

    • If you are pregnant
    • If you have a blood clotting disorder (including thrombosis)
    • If you are taking oral anti-coagulants
    • If you have received a Steroid injection within 6 weeks
    • If you have a Pacemaker fitted
    • If tumours are present at the treatment site
    • If you have an infection or skin abrasion at the treatment site
    • If you are Under 18 (except in the treatment of Osgood-Schlatter disease)

    Any treatment over an air-filled area such as the lungs or guts is also not possible.

    This list is of course not exhaustive, and an assessment by a practitioner is always necessary. We know from experience there are certain treatments, conditions and individual histories that are likely respond better or worse to Shockwave, however in every assessment we look at the safety first.

    The cost depends on the type of shockwave treatment you require, typically £70-£80 per session. Some conditions may require several sessions.

    Dont be fooled with companys who offer shockwave therapy with out a reputable brand like Stortz.
    A lot of cheaper and far less effective models of shockwave exist and Nadia has spent alot of money and time investing in this along with training.
